These beautiful Hanging Easter Egg Decorations are new to the Paper Tree shop this Easter. They are hand painted in Kashmir using a traditional papier-mache handicraft technique brought from Persia in the 14th century to medieval India. The paper and other waste materials including straw from the rice plant is soaked in water for several weeks then taken out and made into a pulp and dried. This is followed by a moulding process until the shape is completed and hand painted in stunning intricate designs.
Kashmiri papier-mache includes vases, bowls, cups and these beautiful egg decorations for Easter. Hang the eggs on natural or painted branches and display as an Easter Tree. Mix and match the hand painted papier mache eggs with paper Easter eggs which fold out to create a 3D egg shape.
Wishing you a very happy Easter.
