Many congratulations to Meghan & Harry, what a beautiful day in so many ways!
The setting at Windsor Castle along with blue skies, impressive pageantry and huge crowds made this a truly spectacular occasion.
I loved Meghan’s dress, it was simple and classic and perfect for her. The bridesmaids and pageboys were so sweet and so well behaved!
It was a very inspirational ceremony with a real break in tradition to more formal Royal weddings, I particularly loved the gospel singers.
The wedding flowers were stunning. I adore this floral arch with greenery and white flowers by the florist Philippa Craddock. The flowers incorporated pollinator-friendly plants and locally sourced foliage, much taken from the gardens and parkland of Windsor Great Park. The aim was to reflect the landscape around Windsor castle and to use flowers and plants that were in season and blooming naturally in May. Flowers included were white garden roses, peonies, foxgloves with branches of beech, birch and hornbeam. White roses are associated with innocence, wistfulness and virtue, they were also the favourite flower of Princess Diana.
Meghan’s bouquet was very simple and very pretty. Prince Harry picked some of the flowers himself from their private garden at Kensington Palace to be added to the bouquet. The Spring bouquet included Myrtle which symbolizes hope and love. Other flowers in the bouquet were sweet peas, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine and astrantia.
Princess Charlotte’s flower crown echoed the simplicity and beauty of the wedding flowers with white roses, lily of the valley and jasmine.
