The Marine Conservation Society is a UK charity dedicated to protecting our seas, shores and wildlife. MCS’ vision is for seas rich in wildlife, abundant fish stocks and pollution free beaches and bathing waters – seas that are fit for wildlife to thrive in and for people to enjoy, and seas that will support future generations with abundant resources.
If you enjoy wild swimming the MCS are holding a fundraising event on Saturday 12th July in Eastbourne, There are only a few days left to register for this, please see the following link if you are interested in joining. http://www.mcsuk.org/swim
MCS has chosen Eastbourne to host the event due to its Good Beach Guide ‘recommended’ status, which means it has passed stringent water quality tests and as a result is deemed to have excellent bathing water quality.
Tori Williams, MCS Community & Events Fundraiser says, “We are really looking forward to our third event in Eastbourne. The location is fantastic in a sheltered bay with excellent water quality, which is essential for beach users and sea swimmers. The Eastbourne Voluntary Lifeguards are a great support and ensure top quality safety cover for all of our swimmers, and so if you’re new to sea swimming, don’t worry; you will be in very safe hands.”
Whether you’re a seasoned sea swimmer or fancy a new challenge for 2014, sign up today and do something amazing for our seas!
